In 2025, the Indiana State Library will be celebrating its 200th anniversary. As part of the celebration, the State Library will be presenting programs, hosting escape rooms and trivia contests, screening a movie, holding a public reception and unveiling a new celebratory website.
As part of the festivities, the library has published "Laying the Foundation," a brand new book featuring collection highlights from the Indiana State Library. The richly-illustrated book features 100 items from the library's vast and remarkable collection. Spanning multiple centuries and covering a wide array of topics, items in the book represent only a small fraction of the historic and culturally significant materials held by the Indiana State library.
"Laying the Foundation" is available for purchase right now for $20 in the Nook Gift Shop on the first floor of the Indiana State Library, located at 315 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.
